Educational Visit to the Rayong Plant

Educational Visit to the Rayong Plant

January 23, 2013

Teachers and secondary students from the Debsirin School visited the Rayong Plant at Praxair (Thailand) Company Limited on 23 January 2013 to see firsthand how liquid carbon dioxide and dry ice were manufactured.

Mr. Direk Hoonjarern, a teacher, said the Company’s manufacturing process matched the content of the senior-secondary students’ chemistry lesson on the physical change of dry ice and petroleum. According to him, the educational visit to the plant has allowed the students to see clearly how the lesson can be applied to real life. Mr. Direk also described the Company as a great place for students to learn outside the classroom.

One of the students, Mr. Jitpon Parangsawas, said this educational visit effectively taught him about the manufacturing of carbon dioxide. From this visit, he said he also learned that Praxair (Thailand) had turned its industrial waste into useful resources for the country.

Mr. Jitpon added that he was fascinated with the Company’s real-time monitoring system for its manufacturing lines because he wished to become an engineer one day.

Praxair Thailand Company Limited has valued the development of quality human resources. It, therefore, has long provided educational support to a number of beneficiaries. Many of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects are related to education. Among them are the Open House for Science Students Project, the Huai Phlu School (Chachoengsao) Development Project, and the Wat Chaiyatara 1 School (Chachoengsao) Development Project.
